Lenton Fish Dinners

The South Plainfield Knight of Columbus #6203 held their very successful 2016 Sacred Heart Lenten Fish Dinners in February and March. The Knights made $8,500 profit from the 6 weeks the fish diners ran.

On Tuesday August 16th The South Plainfield Knights of Columbus handed out the proceeds from these Fish Dinners. Grand Knight Joe McGeehan presented Father John Alvarado from Sacred Heart Church $3,500, $1,500 was also given to Sacred Heart Social Concerns Organization for them to construct there garden boxes for which all the fresh vegetables is donated to needy families. Holy Savior Academy was given $1,000 for the use of their cafeteria and $2,500 was donated to the Knights of Columbus Scholarship fund.

Some particulars from the Fish Dinners were = 1000 Pounds of Fish, 400 Pounds of French Fries, 20 Pounds of Pasta, 200 Slices of Pizza, 200 Pounds of Rice Pilaf, 300 Pounds of Salad, 1000 pieces of cake, 1000 cookies, 40 Gallons of Ice Cream and 100 Pounds of Cole Saw were served in the 6 weeks.
